Updated Activity Feed and Notifications

Logging into Behance today, you may have noticed something different.  Our team has worked tirelessly to bring you some awesome new things, particularly an updated Activity Feed free of clutter and  new Bell Notifications.

The Activity Feed now shows the goings on of the creatives you follow on Behance–what they’re working on (WIPS), projects they’re publishing, collections they’re creating, and work they’re appreciating–while removing the clutter.  What comes forward is the work from talented creatives.

So, where did those notifications on the right side go?  On the top left, of course!  The new Bell Notifications will show you your new Followers and when you work gains an appreciation, comment, or is added to a collection.

We’re super excited to see these new changes and hope you all really love them!

    It looks good but;
    — How can I view my recent followers like I used to, or list all the comments that have been posted on my projects? I just recieved a mail that says “Added to PRINT, Logo/Marken-Entwicklung, Grafik, Branding, and 21 more collections” — with 21 more being a link, to what I assume is a listing of all the collections that contain my projects? However, when I now press that link I’m just being sent to “Activity” where I can’t see any collections, followers, comments or appreciations. SO, my question is; Where can I find these things now, besides from the notifications drop down?

thanks for the new design, but there is one problem! i need to control my feed, some people that i follow, are appreciating every thing, therefore i can’t see nothing but there activities! i need the old control to choose what you i want to see, appreciations or new projects only .. etc, and even a way to manage my feed, by stoping some people from appearing on my activity page for example, this is would be better than un follow them!
    thanks a lot,

Where is the button for appreciation by me?? :’(

  5. — October 8, 2013 12:13 pm

Yes same as what Bilal said earlier my activity feed is gettin clogged by a connection which isnt my connection anymore as they keep liking a lot of things and clogging my activity feed is there anyway to filter it out but overall the design is much more clean and easy on the eye.

Where do I Find the “My appreciations” section now?

What Bilal said [some people you follow appreciate everything]. Plus once you get 10+ notifications in the new bell area.. it’s impossible to keep up. Can that area still be separate.. or at least clickable to a separate page instead of just a drop-down menu?

Any update on Bilal’s comment. I too would like to remove people that appreciate in excess. I rely on my activity feed to find new work that I like and inspires me, right now that isn’t working.

It doesn’t make sense because I can’t sort the artwork on my activity by “latest” artwork first. Newer artwork is scattered and I see old artwork from months ago at the top. Please, fix this flaw.

Sorry I hate the design and haven’t been back on Behance in probably a month because of it. Unless I’m missing the option… is there no way to just see the people you are following? My feed is cluttered with appreciations and work from people I’m not following nor have any interest in following while the people I am following are super hard to spot (which is all I care about seeing on my feed). If I want to find more talented artists I’ll make the effort to look for their work on Behance. Instead I’m just seeing a bunch of work that I don’t necessary want to see while the work I do like is buried away.

Hi there! Thanks for commenting. What I think you may be seeing are the Appreciations and Comments of the people you follow. They may be commenting on older projects, but since the comment is actually new “activity,” it will make its way to the top. Hope that helps clarify!

    I’m new to Behance.

How come even when I unfollow someone, I can still see their posts on my activity feed? I would like them to disappear completely.

The posts won’t disappear, but as you follow new people, the old posts will be pushed down.

Head to “My Connections” in the Me tab. Then click Following, then “Show Projects.”

I can’t get my head around the new design. There is now no way to click on my Followers or Following to see what people have been up to. As already commented, some people are serial likers. They like everything they see. These one or two people cover my entire Activity feed. Similar to the recent Youtube update – It’s was much better the way it was before you changed it but it’s free so I guess we can’t complain too much.

I’m just not finding the list of people I was following. Where is the access to them?

Same comment here, my Behance activity feed is now showing one person who is spending is life liking everything 24 hours a day. We are badly missing the option to see “New Project Only” like it was possible to do before the update.

  20. — April 9, 2014 4:28 pm

I agree with Simon. If there was an option to filter out the appreciations I would use Behance like I use Pinterest. People appreciate much faster than they upload new work, so I rarely see the new work that they create on my feed.

  21. — May 30, 2014 8:56 pm

Why is there not an option to have your activity feed NOT show appreciations?
I unfollowed someone but I cant get them out of my activity feed! ugh…
Just a little more functionality would go a long way Adobe!

I am very Disappointed in Behance the core functionality of the site was compromised and they have not responded to Bilal’s comment addressing the issue I have been so annoyed by the new layout that I have not uploaded anything since it changed and I go to the site a fraction of the time that I used to

I would also like to see a way to filter the news feed. there are a couple of people i follow who appreciate so many things that i only see those… i would like to see an option where i can filter only new work from the people i follow…

Hello, I have a question.why Can’t I see the appreciation of the people who don’t have a profile in Behance. of course I dont expect to get their names but at least it would be nice if I could see they have appreciated my projects.

Arghh having same problem as Bilal Alsurri, and a lot of other people.
One person has completely taken over my activity feed – making Behance completely useless for me….

Is there any workaround or fix for this yet?!

I agree activity feed needs to give us more control to watch only “new” only groups of users or to even hide/show certain works. I keep getting bombarded with same works and some keep constantly showing up at the top and I don’t even like them but they are taking over valuable space to seeing new or more interesting works. Can you give us more control and flexibility here.

I am following this tread for the past few months, patiently waiting to find the great answer of how to get rid of a pest invasion of my activity feed by one person but I think there is actually no one from BEHANCE that gives a sh** about the problem or this tread, unless they take the time to send personal messages with the secret answer to the problem. Seriously annoyed!

Hi there! For real-time feedback, it’s best to reach out to our community team at help.behance.net. In terms of your question, the best way to remove unwanted projects from someone is to unfollow them. As time goes on and the other people you follow produce more activity, you’ll start to see new content.

  29. — October 28, 2014 3:07 pm

Hi guys – sorry for the radio silence! Blog post comments are not the best place to get customer support from Behance, so please remember to email help.behance.com next time – we always respond within a few hours!

To address some of the questions above:

@Bilal and others: You’re correct that there is no longer a way to filtter the activity feed. This was a design decision – sorry that we can’t give more information on this, but I would definitely recommend that you signup for the new Activity Digest, or instant email notifications when someone you follow publishes new work, if what you’re most interested in is finding out about new projects.

@Mark – When you unfollow someone, you won’t see any NEW work from them, but the old content will be there until it’s “pushed down” by the new activity coming in.

@Laleh – This is because there is no way to track who people are when they’re not logged into Behance :) So, we record that you GOT the appreciation, but can’t track who gave it to you.

@Helton – to see the list of people that you follow, visit your own profile and find this on the left hand column.
