I terminated renewal because the iPad app was not working and tech support was of no help. It closes down without notice, mid update. What is the plan for upgrading the iPhone and iPad apps?

AIR is not working on either MAC or Windows. It won’t open up the old version without insisting on an upgrade of the App and the App itself won’t install as it says it has been configured incorrectly.

    Please sort this out.

This error usually occurs when the app wasn’t completely or correctly uninstalled first. Could you try doing the following?

    1) Uninstall your current version of the Action Method AIR app on your computer–make sure this is completely uninstalled. The method will be different for different operating systems. If you’re placing the application in the trash, make sure you’re trashing the App itself (not just the shortcut on your desktop or doc) and empty your trash.

    2) Go to the Adobe AIR website and install the latest version of AIR : http://get.adobe.com/air/

    3) Re-install the AIR app at https://www.actionmethod.com/desktop

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

Only successfully got this working on Windows by completely removing AIR and AM from Windows and reinstalling.

Still can’t get it to work on the MAC. You have this implementation wrong. We shouldn’t be downloading files with the .air extension in any case. There is no need to do this if you have things set up correctly.

How do you propose we ‘completely uninstall’ your app from MACs?

    Did action method go from free to $9 a month??? I’ll go back to a different free to do manager, thanks, sad )-;

There is still the same free version as we’ve always had (50 Action Steps in the free version) – and a premium version as well.

I e-mailed days ago as I continue to have problems trying to download the new AMO air app. It comes in as code. No one has gotten back to me and I am now no longer able to launch from my dock.

  15. — September 5, 2012 9:37 pm

Hey Susan. Sorry for the inconvenience! Did you uninstall Adobe AIR entirely? That would cause your computer to not recognize the file. You can reinstall AIR from here: http://get.adobe.com/air/

Mark, sorry you are having so much trouble. Adobe forced our hands by shuttering the Adobe Marketplace. Trust me, we would have loved to push out an automatic update instead. Once over this hump, this is again possible. Their shutdown forced us to change our distribution mechanism (no longer offered from the Adobe Marketplace), and signing certificate (which is why if you don’t uninstall it will tell you it is misconfigured). You can completely uninstall the app simply by dragging it from Applications (in finder) to the trash. Updating the Adobe AIR runtime is also recommended (http://get.adobe.com/air/). If you see the .air file being downloaded, you may not have the AIR runtime anymore, or are using a browser with flash disabled (new Macs don’t include it by default). I’ve personally done this on Mac OSX 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 multiple times, and while unpleasant, it is possible. Let me know if you have any more issues!

Why was the iPhone version just pulled from the app store? Just received notification that an update was present and received an message the product doesn’t exist.

@bryan – you must be doing something different. I have tried on two macs now following exactly as you describe and it still won’t work. Windows – perfect. The irony.

    Hi Chris,
Try re-installing from scratch–it was removed because there was a bug and the update had to go through the Apple store’s approval process, which is quite lengthly, unfortunately!

Thanks for the quick response, love the products and all the resources. You all have done a great job. Thanks Again.

Is there a way to make a file shared on the IPad App?

    Thanks…Steve

Shared projects and files are only available on the web app at the moment. Hope this helps!

Is it possible for others who are on a shared folder to view completed tasks?

I set up a folder and shared it with two others, and I am the only one can view the completed tasks. Is this a set-up issue or a program limitation?

Please support notification for iOS. All action steps should have a notification option. It’s not enough to get an email.

it would be nice to discuss a task – like wunderlist & co!
sometimes it is necessary to discuss.

I haven’t seen many updates in the past months and as other services (such as do.com, producteev, wedoist, etc…) are continuing constant development; I’m concerned about investing my team in a platform, without knowing its future. Is this something that is planning on existing for the foreseeable future? Will it have continued support and updates? I love ACTION METHOD and want to have my whole team use it, there just hasn’t seemed to be much responsiveness and improvement since its new launch.

    Thank you for your time,

    Z

    Hi there,

At the moment, we’re only focused on maintaining the current version of Action
Method, and are not adding new features. The redesign we did last year addressed what we thought were some of the most critical features.

Thanks for being a customer, and hope this helps clarify!

It seems the ipad and iphone apps are no longer in the app store, is there any way to get them, or will they be available again?

  38. — October 23, 2013 12:59 pm

I finally found an awesome online tool that has been working for me, it is sad to see that AMO will not continue developing. It works great, but there is always room for improvement. Guess I will have to take my premium account elsewhere. Thanks though!

too sad action method online and apps are going down…
Anyone buying the platform to keep it alive?
alternatives might be functionally comparable, but they are not as beautiful designed.
