New Work City

New Work City New YorkOur friends at New Work City are doing an amazing thing. They are gathering a community of dedicated creative minds to work together in a co-working environment that promotes accountability, professionalism, and good economics. We previously profiled the thinking behind this new workspace concept in the Behance Magazine. We were surprised to see the new website splash page for New Work City – it utilizes a Behance Action Book to show the completed action steps required to make New Work City happen. Read more →

Word from the Blogosphere

The Behance team is very grateful for the coverage and suggestions we have received from blogs around the world since the launch of AMO. A few blogger reviews we’ve come across (aside from the official ones at TechCrunch and Mashable): 1222North’s review of Action Method – correctly pointing out that this IS more “action management” than “project management” (quite a philosophical difference we are proud of!  And then their is Plus63 – a showcase of Filipino Creativity. We’ll keep a look-out for other interesting interpretations of Action Method Online and how it can help people and teams make ideas happen.

AMO – Launched At Last

Our team was thrilled to further launch Action Method Online (AMO) today. We’ve been working for years on developing the methodology, the products, and the concepts, design, and technology behind this service. It feels good to finally share AMO with others (beyond the beta user program).

The application received reviews today in TechCrunch, Mashable, LifeDev, and (via TechCrunch) in the Washington Post. Read more →

Keynote at re:think Conference

Behance founder Scott Belsky delivered a keynote presentation at this year’s re:think conference – for leaders in the event management industry. The presentation was based on the Behance team’s research on “making ideas happen” and how some of the most productive creative people and teams in the world function. Keynotes and consulting engagements are all a part of Behance’s Advisory Services.

Getting ready for AMO…

The Action Method Online (AMO) beta launch period has begun. The team is psyched and we invite you to read a bit about this new productivity application in the online magazine.

In the meantime, we have been busy gathering feedback, filming demos (some pictures below, taken by JB), and gradually inviting more and more people and teams to sign onto the application. We invite you to sign-up for the beta list at ActionMethod.com.

Making GOOD Ideas Happen!

Behance was pleased to throw a party for New York’s Internet Week – gathering leaders in the creativity community together for a good cause. Attendees were encouraged to bring their idealism, and leave behind Action Steps with resources, connections, and next steps to help three non-profits make their ideas happen. The featured non-profits at the event were City Year, StartingBloc, and Sustainable South Bronx. Check out the photos by Behance Network member Rachel Feierman.

The event was co-sponsored with our friends at AllDayBuffet.

Amazing people gathered for drinks and got a buzz from doing good – what more could you ask for?

Behance “Tips” at 2008 HOW Design Conference

HOW Design Conference 2008

Behance founder Scott Belsky presented “Tips for Making Ideas Happen” at this year’s HOW Design Conference in Boston, MA. Over 4000 people attended the conference this year. The session included a selection of tips from Behance’s 200+ interviews of creative teams (many of which are profiled on BehanceMag.com) as well as the methodologies developed by the Behance team. We have come across an early blog review of the session as well as a few blogger recaps here and here.
