We’re excited to announce that three members of the Behance family have been nominated for Webby Awards!
SVA Portfolios, an exclusive online network powered by Behance for SVA alumni, faculty and students to showcase original work, has been nominated for a Webby Award in the Self-Promotion/Portfolio category.
While we’ve always thought Behance has the best members, now we have a Webby endorsement to back it up: the Behance Network has been nominated for Best Community.
Last but not least, after winning the category last year, The 99% is once again nominated for Best Cultural Blog.
Our brand-new Alva Award, given to a single remarkable inventor annually, will be complemented with an exciting new Alva Emerging Fellowship program, which will provide cash grants to empower the next generation of inventors to take action on their ideas.

Just before Behance’s flagship event this May 5-6, The 99% Conference, we were thrilled to learn that The 99% website won the Webby Award for Best Cultural Blog, topping fellow nominees Speakeasy, the WSJ.com Blog, Letters of Note, Laughing Squid, and Pop Eater. This year, Behance was also a Webby Finalist in the categories: Social Media and Self Promotional/Portfolio.
This week, we were honored to learn that The 99% was chosen as one of the “Top 6 Sites That Inspire and Educate” by Intel’s “My Life Scoop” page. The 99% was listed among TED, Brain Pickings, PSFK, Kottke, and Information is Beautiful.
The Behance team was thrilled to make a big (and bold) idea happen: hold a conference for creative leaders that focused NOT on ideas or innovation, BUT INSTEAD ON execution and HOW to make ideas happen.
With Cool Hunting as our official partner and a series of other sponsors, we held the sold-out conference in New York on April 16-17 at the Times Center.
There were some thorough reviews and articles posted by journalists at the conference including a few from Fast Company, VentureBeat, and TechnoTheory.

It’s not about ideas.
It’s about making ideas happen.
How many unwritten novels, half-finished projects, and brilliant ideas have never seen the light of day? What separates creative people who make their ideas happen from the constant dreamers?
is partnering with Cool Hunting
to host 99%. A conference that focuses less on idea-generation, and more on how inspiration and organization come together to make ideas happen.
